The #yfundus contest is a yconic Program that provides a total of $2,000 in scholarships / grants for student nominated projects and organizations and a $1,000 voting scholarship.

Applications for a Scholarship/ grant (“Applications”) are submitted to the Program website at www.yconic.com/programs/yfundus (the “Website”). By submitting an application for grants/scholarships, or otherwise participating in this Program, you agree to the Application Guidelines herein.
No purchase necessary. The yconic "yFundUs Scholarship" Contest (the "Contest") is open to any person who is 13 years of age and older at time of entry, who is a yconic member (a "Member"), currently residing and studying in Canada (excluding Quebec), on the Contest Closing Date and who is enrolled in a Canadian High School CEGEP or Canadian publicly funded University or College or will be enrolled for the 2014-2015 school year.
Void in whole or in part where prohibited by law. yconic (the “Sponsor”) and each of the individuals associated with the Contest, including the Sponsor’s employees, directors, officers, agents, representatives, promotional and marketing agencies, and any member of the immediate families of any of the foregoing and other individuals with whom any of the foregoing are domiciled, are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
All grants will be paid directly to organisations nominated to the participants. To be eligible for the grants organisations must fall under the following categories; Student Associations and/ or clubs , Community Associations, not-for-profit organizations, community groups and other student focused projects or initiative.
yconic monitors the #yFundUs system on an ongoing basis and any irregular voting or other activity is investigated. In addition, associations, clubs or organizations involved in any fraudulent activity are disqualified.
yconic reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any Participant, and any of its application and/or associated votes, if that Participant is deemed by yconic to be (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry or voting process or the operation of the Program (b) violating the Application Guidelines (c) violating the terms and conditions of the Website (d) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, harass any other person or act fraudulently in any manner.
3 Contest Period and Applications
There will be one application period during which Applications can be submitted (“Application Period”), followed by a voting period during which each Application submitted and posted can be voted on (“Voting Period”), as shown below in the following table.

4 Application Process
Applications must be submitted online through the Website by the end of the respective Application Period. Limit one (1) Application per Participant during an Application Period. Each application must indicate that these Application Guidelines have been read and accepted. Each Application must include at least the following information:
- A description of the project including the benefit and outcome of the project.
- A brief video about the project or organization requiring the funds.
- By entering the #yFundUs program, your project will be posted on the website and you will be required to upload a video to your profile page.
Any video content must:
- Be clear, in focus and audible
- Be appropriate to the theme of the application
- Be the property of the participant
- Clearly state the objectives of the application
- Promote or benefit the project applied for
- Have written permission from all individuals seen in the video – if an individual in the video is under the age of majority in their province of residence, written permission must be from the person’s legal guardian or parent
- Uploaded to youtube
- Max 10MB file size
All Applications may be reviewed for compliance with these Application Guidelines after being posted to the Website for voting; however, such review does not relieve Participant from responsibility for compliance with these Application Guidelines. Participants and Applications that do not comply with these Application Guidelines or that otherwise contain prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by yconic, in its sole and absolute discretion may be disqualified at any time.
yconic, in its sole and absolute discretion, makes the final determination as to which Participants and Applications are accepted and are eligible to take part in this Program and be considered for inclusion in the Voting Period, on the Website and/or be eligible to receive a scholarship / grant.
Participants will be notified by email whether their application has been approved or rejected within two months of the application deadline. Applications will be rejected if it does not meet the funding criteria. After posting the applications to the website, the Program Administrator may be required to make spelling and grammar changes to the application. Applications will be posted on the website in the language submitted in.
Participants hereby acknowledge that they own or have secured the rights to use, publish and copyright the content of their Application. Application content may not be offensive, and can’t defame or invade upon the publicity or privacy rights of any person, or otherwise infringe on any person or entity’s intellectual property, personal or proprietary rights, as determined at the sole discretion of yconic.
Applications which depict elements not owned by the Participant (such as, but not limited to, depictions of buildings, music, individual names, voices or likenesses, and trademarks or logos) must be able to provide written legal consent (in a form that is satisfactory to yconic) that permit the Participant to use and exploit such elements, and thereby give yconic the right to use and exploit the content and materials in accordance with these Application Guidelines.
By submitting an Application, a Participant consents to the use of its organization name and details, and all content of its application, without further remuneration, in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed throughout the world in perpetuity, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of yconic in connection with this Program.
Participant shall have sole liability for all third party claims relating to or regarding the content of their application.
At times, yconic may, in its sole and absolute discretion, choose to feature certain Participants and applications on the Website and/or advertising materials. Being featured on the Website and/or in advertising materials in no way impacts the likelihood of an Application’s success, and does not indicate preference for/endorsement of the Application and/or its subject matter.

Scholarship and Grant Levels
Grants and Scholarships are available to be awarded for a total of three thousand dollars ($3,000 CAN), in accordance with the following table. We reserve the right to add additional prizing throughout the contest period.
Voting Scholarship: Students who are yconic members and vote for their favorite project during voting periods are entered into an exclusive $1,000 scholarship.

The Application Period is followed by a Voting Period (as set out in Section 3). During the Voting Period, individuals can vote for the Applications they think should receive a Grant (a “Voter”). When individuals sign up for a yconic account on the Website, they are automatically entitled to vote once per day.
An individual may only vote once each day. For purposes of voting, a “day” shall be defined as the 24-hour period beginning at 12:00:01 a.m. ET and ending at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.
yconic determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, that any Participant or Voter that has not complied with these Application Guidelines in any way then yconic reserves the right to cancel that Voter’s or Participant’s account, disqualify all their votes and disqualify any Application that they have submitted and disallow any further participation by such individual in the Program.
For example: (i) by use of proxy voting, (ii) by registering more than one (1) time on the Website and/or using multiple e-mail or dummy e-mail addresses, or (iii) by other fraudulent means in an attempt to cast more than the number of votes allotted per day of each Voting Period.
Once the voting period ends, participants with the highest number of votes will be deemed a Grant recipient as per the following.

If there is a tie among Participants within a Grant level, the Program Administrator, in its sole and absolute discretion, will review the tied Applications and will break the tie based on the Application that first in time received the highest number of votes during the Voting Period.
Votes have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for goods or services.
7 Odds of Winning. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible participants who enter the Contest, and the number of Contest Entries submitted during the Contest Period. Entries will not be eligible if not entered in accordance with these Contest Rules above or if not entered during the Contest Period.
8 Scholarship / Grant Agreement & How to Win
Three (3) student projects will be selected based on the number of votes received during the contest period in accordance with these Official Rules and under direct supervision of the judges, whose decisions regarding this Contest are final in all respects.
In order to be confirmed as a winner in this Contest, a selected entrant must have complied with and remain in compliance with these Contest Rules, and must first correctly answer (or if the selected entrant is a minor, his or her legal guardian must correctly answer) without assistance of any kind, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question to be administered at a pre-arranged time by telephone.
In addition to the foregoing, in order to claim a Prize, the selected entrant must have reached the age of majority in their Province of residence on or before June 30, 2015. If a selected entrant of a Prize is over 13 years of age but under the age of majority in his/her Province of residence, the Prize will be awarded to the parent or legal guardian of such person or the organization, who must accept the Prize on the individual’s behalf. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the age of any selected entrant.
In order to receive a Prize, a selected entrant or organization (or if the selected entrant is a minor, his or her legal guardian): must complete, sign and return a standard declaration, indemnity and release form, confirming understanding and compliance with the Contest Rules and acceptance of the Contest Prize as awarded, and a Release, in a form satisfactory to the Sponsor, releasing Sponsor, and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives of all liability arising out of the Contest, including without limitation, the selection of any Prize winner, the administration of the Contest, and the acceptance or the use of any or all of the Prizes as awarded. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the age and proof of enrolment in a Canadian high school, CEGEP or post-secondary school for the 2014–2015 school year of any selected prize winner. Must return all such forms to Sponsor within five (5) days of receipt of the forms by the selected entrant.
Grant recipients are solely liable for the payment of any tax applicable to a Grant.
No substitution of a Grant is offered, except at the sole and absolute discretion of yconic. Grants are non-transferable.
9 General Conditions
yconic accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from the Program or awarding of a Grant. yconic will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, or falsified Applications and all such Applications are void.
yconic will not be liable for any failure of the Website, does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry material/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.
In the event it is determined that a Participant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these Application Guidelines the Participant will be disqualified any of the Application(s) submitted by the Participant will be disqualified.
If for any reason the Program is not capable of being administered as planned, including without limitation, lack of sufficient number of Participants and/or votes to support the continuing the Program, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Program or for any reason the Program Administrator reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to cancel, modify or terminate the Program at any time.
yconic reserves the right to amend these Application Guidelines at any time without notice.
yconic shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Program. By submitting an Application, Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless yconic, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, licensees, and assigns, and each of their directors, officers, agents, and employees, from and against any and all claims, losses, costs, damages, liabilities and costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and costs) which arise out of any breach of these Application Guidelines.
Sponsor’s decisions, in its sole and absolute discretion, are final and binding in all matters relating to the Program.
The construction, validity, interpretation and enforce-ability of the Application Guidelines and this Program will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, and that parties agree to submit exclusively to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Alberta.
